In the beginning…. A step away from our usual scene, but when Nicky Holloway and original logo designer George Georgiou ask you to do the official Sin at the Astoria club logo t-shirt, one of the birth places of Acid House, you gotta say yes! The club, now infamous, was started by Nicky.
Holloway (with Paul Oakenfold, Johnny Walker and Danny Rampling) was one of the “Ibiza four” – four DJs who travelled to the island for a holiday in the summer of 1987. They visited a club called Amnesia and met an Argentine DJ called Alfredo Fiorito who inspired them to promote Balearic Beats back in the UK.
Holloway opened the club Trip at the London Astoria in Charing Cross Road at the end of May 1988, and was one of the first legal acid house clubs. Trip changed its name to Sin, after the previous name’s close association with drugs! Ooh, how awful…
So, here is ours, Nickys, and Georges little tribute, and it’s very ltd edition! First come, first served basis!
